DUO SENSOR Technology*

The innovative DUO SENSOR technology combines two professional measuring methods the Oscillometric technology and the Korotkoff technology to provide an ARRHYTHMIA CORRECT blood pressure result.

Whilst most automatic blood pressure measurement devices only use Oscillometric technology, the Duo Sensor Technology additionally measures using the very precise Korotkoff method that is similar the very reliable (gold standard) method used by doctors to measure blood pressure.

Therefore, it is less error prone, providing correct measured values even in patients with heart rhythm disorders.

ECG Technology*

A contraction of the heart muscle is caused by an electrical stimulus that is detected on the surface of the body and displayed by an electrocardiogram graphic, known by the ECG abbreviation. The resulting changes in the voltage can be detected on the surface of the body and their course can be recorded and graphed. A disorder of these electrical signals is called an arrhythmia.

The Veroval® ECG and blood pressure monitor is a single-channel ECG that can detect different arrhythmias for example atrial fibrillation or extra systoles, and therefore helps to make a preliminary assessment by carrying out a basic recording.

The recorded electrocardiograms reflect the function of the heart at the time of the measurement. Previous or subsequent changes therefore cannot necessarily be detected.

The basic recording and assessment carried out by Veroval® ECG and blood pressure automatically evaluates whether the heart rhythm is OK for normal (Fig. 1), too slow (Fig. 2), too fast (Fig. 3), with pauses (Fig. 4) or irregular (Fig. 5 and 6). This will be shown by clear symbols on the display immediately after the measurement.

These may have a number of different causes which may be harmless but which may also be triggered by diseases of varying severity requiring you to seek medical advice.

Once you transfer the data to medi.connect software, you may share with your doctor the full ECG graph (figure below) by email!

Irregular Heartbeat Detection

For accurate blood pressure results, it is important to measure the blood pressure outside any episode of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). Heart rhythm disorders may sometimes produce false measurements or lower the measurement accuracy. If ‘Irregular Heartbeat Detection’ symbol* is shown in the display, the device has detected an irregular heartbeat during the measurement. However, the measurement may also have been disrupted by body movement or speaking. It is best to repeat the measurement. If you regularly see the ‘Irregular Heartbeat Detection ’symbol when measuring your blood pressure, we recommend that your doctor checks your heart rhythm.

Traffic Light Indicator*

To better evaluate the results, there is a colour traffic light system on the left side of the Veroval® Blood Pressure Monitors* that directly describes the results. This system enables easier categorisation of the measured value of Veroval® as per the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) for classifying blood pressure values:

Smart Cuff Technologies

'Measurement OK'* for Cuff Fit and Movement Control

OK-symbol

For accurate results, you must respect the ‘golden rules’ when measuring your blood pressure. The display of ‘Measurement OK’ symbol facilitates correct measurements. It combines the control of the Cuff Fit to ensure that it has been applied firmly enough on the arm together with the Movement Control rest indicator to ensure that there is no notable body movement detected by the device while measuring. Make sure that you see the ‘Measurement OK’ symbol on the display after each measurement.

*The ‘Measurement OK’ is available for Veroval® Duo Control blood pressure monitor

Cuff Fit control

Cuff-Fit-Check-v.5

For accurate results, you must respect the ‘golden rules’ when measuring your blood pressure. The display of ‘Cuff Fit’ symbol facilitates correct measurements. The cuff should fit securely but not too tightly. You should be able to insert two fingers between the arm and the cuff. When the cuff has been applied firmly enough on the arm, the ‘Cuff Fit’ symbol appears on the display, if not, the error message ‘Error’ may appear which indicates that the cuff is not applied tightly enough. Make sure that you see the ‘Cuff Fit’ symbol on the display after each measurement.

*The ‘Cuff Fit’ control is available for Veroval® Upper Arm and Veroval® Compact blood pressure monitor.

Visual Position Control

Visual position control

For precise measurement values with a wrist blood pressure monitor, it is important that the blood pressure monitor is positioned at the height of your heart. A position check is integrated into the monitor as an additional aid to indicate when the blood pressure monitor is in the correct position. If you see ‘OK’ on the display, you have found the correct position.

*The Visual Position control is available for Veroval® Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

Comfort Air Technology

Comfort-air-tech-v.4

Comfort Air Technology allows more comfortable and gentle upper arm measurements. Unlike other blood pressure monitors with extreme cuff inflation pressure, the smart Comfort Air Technology enables the systolic blood pressure value to be approximated during each individual inflation as the device always uses just as much pressure as is really needed! This allows for more comfortable and gentle upper arm measurements to ensure accurate and pleasant blood pressure measurements.

Patent Ergonomic cuff with Pull-Up System & Secure Fit

Patented cuff v2

or correct measurement results, it is essential that the cuff is correctly fitted on a bare upper arm. The Patent Ergonomic Cuff with Pull-Up System and Secure
Fit
is specially designed to support you in the proper positioning of the cuff. It indicates you to PULL-UP the cuff by gripping the RED DOT tab and then to close the hook-and-loop fastener. The tube should lie in the middle of the inner elbow and point towards the hand. The special Ergonomic Cuff cut allows you now to bend your arm slightly. The cuff should fit securely but not too tightly. You should be able to insert two fingers between the arm and the cuff.

*The Patent Ergonomic cuff with Pull-Up System & Secure Fit is available for Veroval® Duo Control , Veroval® 2 in 1 ECG and Blood Pressure Monitor and Veroval® Upper Arm blood pressure monitor.
